(*) Vietnam Visa on Arrival (VOA) is quite different from the normal “on Arrival” concept. If you wish to do the VOA service here, you need to employ an agent in Vietnam (like our hotel) to obtain an official of approval letter for VOA before you arrive. Later, at the airport this letter must be showed together with your valid passport to get the Visa stamped.

Very good & friendly staff. Very personal & approachable, especially Jolie, receptionist cum good guide.
The boat, staff and trip were amazing. Saw some great places and would definitely recommend. Drinks onboard were fairly reasonable and there isn’t any issue with taking your own with you if preferred. The staff helped extensively with travel to and from the boat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Aphrodite cruises and couldnt fault it at all. The food was amazing, the staff were so attentive and helpful and the room and decking areas were clean and comfortable.
The activities were well organised and fun. With host Anna leading the way, our group went kayaking, guided cave tours and explored an authentic local floating fishing village.
The food was plentiful and tasty, cooked by on board chef Kevin. On board activities during our stay on the Aphrodite included Vietnamese cooking classes, morning Ti Chi and evening squid fishing.
We would highly recommend Aphrodite cruise! 5*
We chose to spend two nights on Aphrodite cruise and it was worth it.The staff was very cordial and helpful, the room cabin was beautiful with the amazing view to wake up to every morning. The food was delicious with a five course meal, the service was on point. The activities at cruise will help you absorb everything that halong Bay has to offer. visits to caves were just mesmerising, kayaking was something to always remember.we had an amazing mix of adventure and romance. It was the best choice to take a stay of 2 nights and 3 days as it helped us to totally enjoy the cruise ,food and halong Bay!
We opted for the 3 day, 2 night itinerary of Ha Long Bay on Aphrodite, and that was definitely the correct decision.
We arrived on the boat on the first day and sailed out into the bay passing amazing scenery. Whilst we were travelling out the crew talked to us about what to expect over the coming days, advise us of some safety features and tell us about the food we would be eating.
Every meal is a feast where leaving food isn’t allowed. Breakfast was self service with traditional choices like pho or fresh fruit and pastries. Dinner was a 5 course affair where if you didn’t like something the chef would replace that course for you – so my wife wasn’t keen on one ingredient in the salad one night so was provided with a different salad to everyone else on the boat. This is due to the competitive nature of the number of boats on Ha Long Bay – they don’t want to ever let anyone down because if they do they will quickly lose their hard earned reputation.
For the second day we were transferred to a day boat that stays further out in Ha Long Bay and doesn’t go back to port to pick up more people for the 2/1 itinerary. The quality and quantity of food and drink on this boat was no less impressive, although I am not certain as to their ability to change menu for personal preference but we weren’t in the situation to require it.
Each day on the boat there were morning tai chi classes, and in the early evening between re-embarking and stopping for dinner there were cookery classes. At night once moored the night we tried our hand at squid fishing off the back of the boat.
Whilst on board we saw several different sites in Ha Long Bay; Ti Top island (including walking to the top for fantastic views), kayaking at Luon Cave, Sửng Sôt grotto and Cua Van fishing village.
