(*) Vietnam Visa on Arrival (VOA) is quite different from the normal “on Arrival” concept. If you wish to do the VOA service here, you need to employ an agent in Vietnam (like our hotel) to obtain an official of approval letter for VOA before you arrive. Later, at the airport this letter must be showed together with your valid passport to get the Visa stamped.

Our cruise departs from Cat Hai port in Hai Phong city, which is 1.5-hour drive from Hanoi. The short journey from the capital city means you will spend more time cruising with us and enjoying the extraordinary beauty of the Ha Long – Lan Ha bay.
Then take part in cooking demonstration to learn about our Vietnamese cuisine of traditional spring rolls.

Luxury ++++. The room with balcony was amazing. The best bed we have slept on in Vietnam. The staff extremely friendly and the food exceptional. We spent 2 nights, 3 days and it was perfect in every way imaginable. Our guide, Hoang was very friendly and knowledgeable, we’d go anywhere with him. Cat Ba is far less touristy than Ha Long but just as spectacular. The highlight of our 3 weeks travelling around Vietnam.
We were moved to this boat after booking Paloma for 3 days 2 nights. We were not sorry for the change. The intinerary was good, rooms incredible, food sensational and such a good wine list we had wine each night!
A big benefit of this cruise is the wharf is only 2hrs drive in a luxury transfer from Hanoi and in a quiet and clean part of the bay. (Lan Ha bay) We only saw maximum of three other boats at any time.
The first day we did five course lunch, dark and light cave kayaking, deck party, spring roll cooking demo and dinner. Second day we transferred with a small group to another lovely boat and went to cat ba island for a hike to a bat cave and a walk through the village followed by lunch on the sundeck of the boat and swimming and more kayaking for a few hours. Then back to the boat for dinner. Day 3 was a trip to the hospital cave on cat ba, brunch and home .
It was fairly expensive but we felt it was worth it.
At the beginning I planned to take their Paloma but it is under maintenance. They offered and recommend me Mon Cheri Cruise.
They took us from our hotel and heading to the jetty. But unfortunately, we stucked in a traffic jam near their jetty office and it was raining. The staff asked us get down from the van and walk to the office. They didn’t well prepare to handle such emergency case. We need to request for rain coat by our own. After that, I need to carry my own luggage to walk to their office. I know it is a short distance and I don’t mind if it is a sunny day. But with a luggage, rain coat, umbrella, a small backpack, rain, muddy and wet road, no.
Other than these, everything is good and perfect. Our room had been upgraded due to some problem. The room is big, comfort and clean. Every room has a private balcony. Bathroom with jacuzzi, food is delicious and crews are very friendly. Activities are very enjoyable. We had visited a hospital cave and a cave by boat (we no join the kayaking). In the evening, we had a cooking class (wrap a spring roll) and the chef is very humours. We have a lot of fun on cruise.
We first had the Orchyd cruise booked and have upgraded to the newer MonChéri cruise due to overbooking on Orchyd. Well we could not have wished for a better cruise! The ship is new with excellent facilities and the staff is very passionate and helpful. There were only a few couples on board which left plenty of time during the activities (kayaking, cooking, fishing, Cat Ba Island visit). We highly recommend MonChéri cruise for their top service, smiles and kindness! We wished we had an extra night onboard as we loved it! Cheers to Hoang, our day trip organizer.

We chose the 3 days – 2 nights cruise on Mon Chéri. The third day is a must!!! We went deeper in the bay on the day boat, biked on Cat Ba island to reach the small village Viet Hai. Because we were only two for the middle day, we hiked on the mountain with our amazing guide Binh to get the best view on the bay! The lunch on the boat was delicious and authentic (seafood, barbecue, soup, vegetables and fruits). The crew (all from Cat Ba) was very welcoming and warming, thanks Cuong, Lich, Hoa and a special thanks to the chef, Luyen, for the delicious food on the day boat!! Thanks Binh!!
