This was the first trip I’d ever taken on any sort of cruise ship and I can’t imagine a better first experience. I was so pleased with how organized the entire trip was.
You’re driven from Hanoi to Halong Bay in a comfortable luxury van with no more than 4 other passengers. The van has free WiFi the whole way, which was an unexpected plus.
As a cruise rookie, the ship was quite larger than I was expecting: spacious dining hall/bar, large sundeck perfect for pictures or sunbathing, even a small pool. Rooms were very spacious and well-kept.
Had an incredible experience kayaking to one of the beaches. It felt very organized with planned activities but I never felt rushed.
The staff was just amazing. Andy was the perfect guide – kind, knowledgeable, you can feel his passion for his job and Halong Bay. The manager, Harry Potter, also had a great energy and kindly shared some of his magic with us (he’s very good!). All of the staff had great attitudes and took the time to learn you name (loved that!). Some of the staff performed a beautiful musical piece after dinner; so talented.
Be sure to go hungry; meals are frequent, plentiful, and delicious!
Received quick and thorough responses via email when booking and when confirming hotel pickup. Felt informed at all times.
I’m very grateful to Andy, Harry Potter, and all of the staff for the unforgettable experience.

This cruise exceeded all our expectations from the beginning. Transportation from the hotel on the luxury van with WiFi was really comfortable. When we got on the dragon legend 2 cruise the staff gave us a warm welcoming followed by going over the itinerary and safety regulations on the boat. Our room was beautiful, clean and with a great view of the bay. All the activities went great, as described on the website. The guide Andy was really friendly and helped us with all our questions, milkman the supervisor made sure we were comfortable and getting good food at every moment and Alan, the bartender made us the best cocktails.

Just came back from a trip to Vietnam and the Dragon Legend cruise was definitely the highlight of the trip. Very relaxing, and views were amazing. The crew and staff were exceptional (Andy, Harry Potter, Long, Happy – very friendly, funny, and polite.

It was a lot of fun to be able to kayak/swim in the bay the first day, as well as check out the caves the second day. Rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious with great views out the window of the bay.

Would highly, highly recommend to all considering a cruise.

Aloha everyone.
Just returned from Halong Bay where we cruised with Indochina Junk on their dragon Legend boat to Bai Tu Long Bay. 5 star amazing all the way.
Let’s back up to yesterday morning. I was feeling about 85%. Our luxury van picked us up at our hotel promptly at 7:45 and besides my mother and I , there was a lovely couple from Singapore joining us for the 4 hour ride.
The van was pimped out and gorgeous and extremely comfortable.
About an hour and a half into our ride , we stopped at a “disabled” people show room making paintings etc set in a marble sculpture production garden.
Of course everything was over priced but we enjoyed the bathroom break and stretch out.
We finally arrived in Halong and I just say their are very efficient.
Upon disembarking they checked us in and I went to make final payment and poof we were loading up on electric carts whisking the 24 of us away to board a small boat. As we left shore and was heading to our boat , I couldn’t help but look at the other boats heading to Halong. Some looked like as if they should’ve retired all g time ago. As our ship, the Dragon Legend pulled up , myself and everyone else ooood and ahhhhhd. The staff o board yelled a welcome on board to is all and we headed up to the dining room for a briefing about the boat and itinerary.
Our room was dropped dead gorgeous. The furnishings , the aircon , the flat screen TV , the super Comfie beds . The jacuzzi like tub everything was perfect. Our picture window was amazing and we could sit on our couch and watch all the islands pass us buy. Lunch was next on our agenda and it was toooooo Much. My god they do feed you on here. Instead of doing any kayaking or swimming , I decided to rest on boat and have an hour massage in the spa. Yes I said it , spa. Lol. Fabulous. I started to feel Mich better. Dinner was a feast and the crew performed for us
I had an amazing night sleeping and woke up for some taichi. After another huge meal ( breakfast ) we took a boat to a little island to explore a little cave. The climb to the cave was treacherous and I could’ve skipped it as it wasn’t that fabulous. My mother almost fell off the first few steps going up so I told her um you stay down lol.
After that we were back on the ship , packed our day bags and relaxed until the very last minute for checkout. Note , at checkout you pay for all your extras like alcohol , coffee , beer and wine and of course my massage. While it wasn’t super expensive I would’ve expected more free drinks instead since the price of the cruise itself is very expensive but the quality is amazing. If you’re ever deciding , indochina Junk is the top of the line luxury.
