DAY 2: HA LONG BAY – HANOI
| 06:00 – 06:30 | It is a perfect time to refresh and indulge yourself in the peaceful beauty of the bay with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck. If you want to hunt for dawn, get up from 5:30 to 6:00 depending on the season, and consult our sailors. |

We progress to Trung Trang cave by our bus on Cat Ba Island which is located in the middle of Cat Ba National Park with Kim Giao forest around the cave. Trung Trang cave located in Trung Trang Valley, which is 15km away from the northwest of Cat Ba town. The cave is 300m long through the mountains, possessing a mysterious beauty due to geological tectonics in million years along with many historical vestiges. The cave has many stalactites with different shapes that stimulate human imagination and amaze visitors. |

2. Services are cancelled by Orchid Cruises
It was difficult to choose the cruise for Halong Bay. I read a lots of review and i am glad i chose Orchid Cruise for 2 days/1 night. The cruise are super friendly and take care of everything for you! It was really well organised. We were in a deluxe cabin and i must say, this was amazing! The food was really good!
We stayed overnight on the orchid 3 cruise. The check in process at the port is a bit hectic . There are hundreds of boats setting out to halong bay from this port so the check in area gets very full and a bit confusing . Check in area itself is not great, just a room where you sit and wait and if there are not enough seats you basically stand outside . The cruise companies along with port officials need to look at making this a better experience for passengers to make a better first impression. The tender for the orchid cruises was a disappointment . It’s very old, rickety and rundown. Do es not form a good impression of what to expect when you arrive on the boat . On the way back it was raining and the tender was completely flooded getting all the passengers and their belongings wet. Now, the boat itself is beautiful , only 8 mths old . There are only 14 cabins on board and the cabins are huge!!! Bugger than hotel rooms!!. There were 3 of us in the room and we didn’t feel cramped at all. We had our own balcony to take in the beautiful views and even a bath tub with a floor to ceiling window!! Was really magical. All staff on the boat were extremely friendly , obliging and went out of their way to make you feel at home. The service was excellent . This particular cruise go’s away from where all the main tourists go to avoid the hectic tourist spots so was very relaxing and peaceful . Would highly recommend the orchid 3 cruise but could not give full marks due to the tender and the check in experience .
If, like me, you have trawled through lots of options for cruises in Ha Long Bay and don’t know which company to go with then read on…..I can highly recommend Orchid Cruises who have excelled in providing faultless customer service and a wonderful short (2 days and 1 night) cruise in Lan Ha Bay. Its a slightly alternative operation which departs from Got Ferry terminal (Cat Hai Town), which means you have a shorter trip from Hanoi on a brand new road. The cruise also takes a slightly different route to a quieter bay with stunning limestone karst scenery. I counted only a handful of cruise boats in this area at the same time that we traveled.
The crew where just brilliant – they are eager to please and make sure you enjoy a comfortable and safe trip. Special thanks to Alan, Tim, Tony, Sunny & Phantom for making this such a memorable and fun experience!
The crew was unreal! They were so kind, helpful and made us laugh! Within an hour they knew all of or names! The food was wonderful the drinks were great! The cabins were beautiful. It rained one day so we couldn’t do what was planned but they took us to a pearl farm and we still had a good time. The bay is stunning there is a lot of garbage which is sad. Also we left our go pro at a bar and our boat manager made sure we got it back!!!!
Al the crew were amazingly helpful and accommodated to all or our requests for a perfect trip thru Halong Bay, the room we were in was amazing with private balcony, Spa bath and a round bed !!
The food was great and great activities with the cruise.
A must do to see tranquility whilst on a beautiful cruise.
