We did the 3 day/2 night cruise through EHG Travel for our Honeymoon and we were lucky enough to have been upgraded to the best cabin on the boat!
First, the transfers from our hotel to the boat was very comfortable, luxury van with AC and wifi. Then once we got to the waiting lounge, we were divided into groups, we were on Orchid cruise #2.
The boat’s beautiful! Our room is just amazing! We have breath taking views, it is so unreal! The food’s great too! We had the best meal 5 courses (lunch and dinner) and they even gave us a surprise during our dinner on our last night for all the couples on their honeymoon. Also we enjoyed the 2 happy hours each day!! Everyone got along well and had so much fun on this cruise!
A lot of fun activities to do too! We did a tour at the Cat Ba cave, Kayaking, Bamboo boat tour, swimming, Tai chi class and cooking class. Definitely do all the activities if you can!
From the time we got to the boat til the end of our trip, we received an excellent service from all the staff and shout out to our host/manager Alan! They were very friendly, helpful and attentive! They remember everyone’s names, pretty impressive! Sunny, Tony and Phantom and everyone is just the best!
This has been an amazing, unforgettable experience for us and we will definitely go back and do it again and bring family/friends with us! Thank you for all the staff for making our stay so special! Mahalo!
We didn’t really know what to expect on our 3 day 2 night cruise. I always feel a little apprehensive in such situations. There was no need. From our arrival in the waiting lounge until arriving back at the jetty everything was organised to perfection. Information about the cruise is in the website so I won’t repeat it. We were given a very informative arrival briefing by the cruise manager Mr Hugo and from then on all went entirely as advertised. We were regularly updated on the itinerary but this was never more than necessary. The cabin was great. Food plentiful and of a very good standard. The dining room well furnished and bright with large widows giving views of stunning scenery. The staff were amazing, courteous, friendly and efficient. All food is inclusive but beverages are extra. The bill is settled at the end of the trip. After 3 days my account was correct to the penny and not at all unreasonable.
Mr Hugo and his wonderful team have my thanks for looking after us so well.
I definitely recommend this cruise. I think the two night cruise is preferable but that is subjective.
I can’t even begin to explain our stay at orchid cruise, the room we had was amazing we had the circle bed room, oh my the views from the bed etc unreal. We were fortunate enough to go Ha Long Bay on a clear day and night so the views of sunset and sunrise were sensational. Most beautiful place I’ve ever experienced in my life. The service was spectacular the staff really do make such an effort to make the service as personal as possible, remembering your name etc. We were on orchid cruise 3 and the staff that stood out to us was the assistant manager that did the cave tour I think her name was Tang(not entirely sure how to spell, sorry!), John and Andy! Amazing service
The activities was really good too! Visiting a cave on cat ba island, kayaking was amazing aswell, didn’t do a cooking class as we already did one in Hoi An but everyone else seemed to enjoy it.
The food in the evening was unreal, we had the lamb with rosemary sauce and fish with mushroom sauce with truffle in, WOW; they asked if I wanted seconds for lamb I couldn’t say no!
This has been the first time I have been on a cruise and it won’t be the last now! Although I have set the bar high for going on cruises after experiencing this one.
We took the two nights that I recommend,one night I think is two short. We had an amazing experience! The boat is beutifull and comfortable. Room is amazing. And stuff is very nice!
After much consideration we opted for the 2 night, 3 day cruise with the Orchid line
and were so glad we did. The boat is beautiful, our room was huge with a small private balcony, and the staff was extraordinarily nice and accommodating. We really felt their mission was to make us as happy as possible with every detail. The boat is small enough to encourage interacting with all the other guests, but not so small that you wished you had more privacy. After 1 night we would have said we had an interesting and beautiful day floating in the bay with some activities, but after 2 nights it was by far the richer experience being able to spend the extra time biking, swimming at the beach, and getting to know our fellow travelers better. We didn’t see garbage and didn’t feel it was overly crowded!
